“You’ve spent practically your whole life at home” oof why do I feel like your brother called ME out. I relate so much to intellectualizing your feelings (I think all writers do lol) and kind of having a delayed emotional response to things. For better or worse, memes about trauma or just how you feel are a popular way of communication for a reason. Sometimes it’s just easier to send a meme and your friend quickly understands instead of having to sit and talk through everything, although that’s good too.

hahahaha no yeah I've never felt more called out than in that moment lmao

Exactly! Sending memes and using them to talk to friends about trauma/emotions is just so much easier than actually having a serious conversation about it. It can sometimes be helpful to put difficult feelings into words/something the other person can understand, but at the same time I think it also makes it easy to distance ourselves from it all
