I relate to this so much! I'm hoping soon to also get to the point where it doesn't cross my mind whether they like me or not. Let it be!! <3 cheers to choosing ourselves!

I once read a line in a book about how people that can chameleon themselves to their social surroundings tend to do quite well in relational sales, business, etc. it was a great tidbit to learn but also alarming! You see, because I suffer to a degree just like you do. Gotta be likeable. So I’m chosen. Got be likeable. So I’m not the first one fired. Gotta be likeable. So I’m flying under the radar. Etc. etc. etc. I also wondered, to a degree, how much birth order had to do with it (I’m a middle child). Anyway, fascinating subject and beautiful piece— bravo on practicing the art of choosing yourself always. ❣️❣️❣️

Thank you so much for your lovely comment Bethany!!!💞

What you said about flying under the radar really hit for me. That’s exactly how I was in high school. I always had to be just likable enough so that I could go under the radar. I’m working on being more authentic to myself though even if that means not everyone is going to like me.

I’ve also wondered how much it has to with birth order though! I’m the youngest so I’ve always been somewhat “babied”, but I’ve also noticed that it doesn’t seem my older brother suffers from this quite as much. Who knows if this really has to do with birth order or not but it’s an interesting thought!
