Hi! Thank you for writing this piece. I’m currently going through the whole, “lost in your 20s and is pressured to be successful right away” part of my life too. Just recovered from my university burnout but the pressure to find a decent job and the shame that I’m not taking the traditional path is absolutely haunting me!

You truly said everything that’s been going on in my head for the past 3 months since graduation 😭 This article makes me feel less alone. Thank you so much again for writing this and I’m glad you didn’t trash this :”>

I’m so glad this piece spoke to you! Thank you so much for your comment. Really means a lot to know my work is resonating with people.

It’s been a year since I graduated and even though I feel less lost, it can still be hard sometimes, especially because things don’t just happen right away. The post-graduation depression is real, but it gets better🫶

Also, so sorry about the delay in my response! I’m currently on vacation and have been on the go non-stop. Really appreciate you taking the time to read my post!

This was poignant. Seconding Mary’s comment: so glad you didn’t trash this! Two reading recs. One on the VERY old roots of the grind, especially as it applies to women: “Caliban and the Witch,” by Silvia Federici. Two: Rick Rubin’s new book, “The Creative Act.” It’s brilliant and it’ll keep you going on those days when you ask yourself: what’s the point!? Finally ... I’ll say: keep going! Keep writing. You have a calling and that calling will carry you through all the nonsense and noise.

Thank you, Stefene! I really really appreciate you saying that! Your words of encouragement mean more than you know. I've been sitting on many of these thoughts for a while now but lately they all started bubbling up to the surface, and I just really needed to get it out.

Both those books sound so good! I'm going to look them up right now and add them to my list on Goodreads so I don't forget. The one by Federici sounds so so cool, and I'm sure Rubin's book will be especially appreciated. Thank you for the recommendations!
